A bottle of Château Petit Village 1949 from Pomerol, an 11 hectare estate planted with 75% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Production is around 55,000 bottles per year.
Please note there is no size or ABV visible on the bottle or label.
This bottle is from the collection of a London fine dining restauranteur, and has been kept in London City Bond prior to sending to us for sale.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note extensive damage to the labels. The top of the capsule is a little lumpy but appears to be secure. Due to the fill-level and potential fragility of the cork we recommend this for collection only, and it is shipped entirely at the buyer's own risk.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
