This lot contains twelve bottles of Warre's 1977 vintage port. The shipper and vintage are stated on the wax and embossed shoulder.
'Deep garnet. Very pretty plum and berry aromas, with hints of honey and toffee. Turns to custard. Full-bodied, sweet and fresh. Firm tannins, with elegance and balance. Will age for a long time, but ready. Generous, but subtle.' James Suckling, Wine Spectator, January 2000
Please note, these bottles have no size or ABV stated on the labels, but these appear to be 75cl bottles.
This wine has been kept in a temperature controlled cellar since purchase.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear. Please note, the original wooden box is included with the lot. The shipping charge can be reduced if this is not required.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
