A ceramic decanter of Bell's 8 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky released for Christmas 2006.
This bottle remembers Coldstream Guardsman John Hatfield, who was tried by court martial for falling asleep on duty at Windsor Castle. To prove he was awake, he claimed to have heard Westminster's Great Tom bell chime 13 times at midnight. This unlikely defence was investigated and was found to be true, so the soldier was acquitted. When he died in 1770, this story was inscribed on his tombstone.
