Description

A bottle of 1968 Barbaresco from Bersano.

Barbaresco is made with the Nebbiolo grape variety in the Piedmont region in an area of the Langhe immediately to the east of Alba and must be aged for a minimum of 2 years (at least 9 months in oak) prior to release, and aged for at least 4 years to be considered a riserva. Similar in style to Barolo, the principal difference between the two wines is that the tannins of Barbaresco tend to soften sooner, making the wines more immediately approachable.
