A bottle of 1953 Grand Vin de Château Latour from Bordeaux's Pauillac appellation.
Château Latour is rated as a First Growth under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the label, but this appears to be a 75cl bottle.
'No other Médoc wine can match Latour for power, depth of flavour, and grandeur.' Stephen Brook.
Please see fill-level prior to bidding.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the label and capsule, which has some tearing at the back but appears to be secure. The vintage is visible on the top of the capsule and 'Grand Vin CHau Latour' is visible on the lower part of the cork.
Due to the fragility of the cork/closure we recommend this for collection only, and it is shipped entirely at the buyer's own risk.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
