A bottle of 2018 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru red Burgundy from Louis Jadot.
Bonnes Mares has a little over 16 hectares of vineyard area and lies just south of the Clos de Tart, the neighbouring Grand Cru. It is shared between the two communes of Chambolle-Musigny (where the main part is located) and Morey-Saint-Denis, and is known for its weighty, fleshy, age-worthy wines.
'100% from the Chambolle side that combines about one-third terres rouges and the remainder from terres blanches.Firm reduction renders the nose impossible to assess today. Otherwise there is impressive volume to the succulent and seductively textured but imposingly scaled flavors that terminate in a firm and very serious finish that despite the extra size and weight is better-balanced. 91-94/100' Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 2020

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
