Description

A bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée Champagne, 171st edition. This is a blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 27% Chardonnay and 18% Pinot Meunier based around the 2015 vintage, a blend of 131 wines from 12 different years, the youngest of which is from 2015, while the oldest dates back to 2000.

Grande Cuvée is always blended from around 120 wines from multiple vintages, some as much as 15 years old. After bottling it remains in Krug's cellars for a further six years, resulting in a complex, 'vinous' Champagne. Wine critic Andrew Jefford noted that: 'of all the wine world's luxury wine brands, Krug is perhaps the most glittering'.
