Description

A bottle of Dom Pérignon 2000 P2. This release, the second 'Plénitude' of Dom Pérignon, is a late disgorged bottling and the result of 16 years of lees ageing rather than seven years which the standard release sees.

'Released April 2017, disgorged May 2016, so 16 years on lees and, as it’s the same wine as P1, the same blend of 52% Chardonnay, 48% Pinot Noir, but the dosage for P2 is lower: in this case 3–4g/l. Richer and creamier on the nose than P1 2000. Crème fraiche richness on the palate with cereal and popcorn flavours, immediately followed by an intense freshness with tauter citrus and spice flavours and an oyster-shell mineral complexity. Richer, deeper, more intense and yet more dynamism than P1.....Very impressive.' Joanna Simon

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
