Description

A litre bottle of Boulard Calvados from the Pays d'Auge region of Normandy. We estimate this was bottled in the 1990s.

The more restrictive AOC Calvados Pays d'Auge area is limited to the east end of the département of Calvados and a few adjoining districts, with additional requirements being that the cider base must have a minimum of six week fermentation, followed by double distillation in an alembic pot still, and at least two years' maturation in oak barrels.
