A bottle of Musigny Grand Cru from Bouchard Père & Fils. The vintage is not fully visible on the label, but this appears to be from the late 1970s (possibly 1978).
Musigny is located on a fault overlooking the Clos Vougeot and bordering on the Combe d'Orveau with a southeast exposure to the sun and light, free-draining stony soils.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note extensive damage to the labels and capsule. The cork is low in the neck by around 2-3mm.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
