A bottle of 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Combe d'Orveaux from Domaine Anne Gros. The Combe d'Orveaux 'lieu dit', though not a premier cru is considered a superior vineyard, and in this case is located next door to the Grand Cru Echézeaux.
Chambolle, in the Côte de Nuits, is often cited as being responsible for producing the most feminine and elegant Pinot Noirs in Burgundy. 1988 produced classic, initially austere wines that have repaid cellaring.
