A magnum bottle of 2018 Pur Sang made by Louis Benjamin Dagueneau from Domaine Didier Dagueneau.
Didier Dagueneau was a winemaker in the Pouilly Fumé region of France's Loire valley, and attracted wide acclaim in his efforts to make 'the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world'. Unusually for what is generally regarded as an early-drinking variety, his wines were substantially structured, sometimes oaked, and intended for extended cellaring.
Dagueneau tragically died in a microlight plane accident in 2008.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
