A bottle of Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2006 from Vincent Dauvissat.
Les Clos is regarded as the finest of the Grand Crus (or 'climats') from Chablis. Its steep slope faces due South, receiving the maximum sun exposure, giving rich, ripe, powerful wines that can age for over 20 years.
'There is a whiff of the exotic to the otherwise ripe but cool aromas of white orchard fruit, and in particular white peach, along with whiffs of iodine and oyster shell. The nicely concentrated medium-bodied flavors exude an evident minerality on the reasonably crisp (in the context of what is typical for the 2006 vintage) while offering excellent depth and length on the very dry finish. Granted, there is a touch of warmth but overall this is a well-balanced '06 that to my taste is drinking perfectly now. 93/100' Burghound, 2019

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
