Bottle Auction

A bottle of Alambre Moscatel de Setubal 20 Year Old from Portugal, produced by Jose Maria De Fonseca using the Setubal Muscat, Boal and Malvasia grape varieties.

After a short fermentation, selected wine brandy is added and the fortified wine macerates on skins until the end of the winter - it is then aged for a minimum three year period in small used oak barrels.

The youngest wine in this wine is 20 years old.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
