A bottle of 2011 Hengst Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardive from Domaine Zind Humbrecht in Alsace, biodynamically grown and bottled by Olivier and Margaret Humbrecht.

The Hengst Grand Cru vineyard is a dry, south-east facing site made up of 60 year old vines very close to Colmar, protected by their proximity of the Vosges mountains. It is rarely a Vendange Tardive or botrytis affected due to the increased resistance of the old vines to rot development.

The 2011 Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardive was bottled with 102 grams per litre of residual sugar.
