A bottle of 1997 Chassagne-Montrachet from Domaine Ramonet.
The domaine was established in the 1920s by Pierre Ramonet and is now run by brothers Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, with the wines made using low yields from vines of at least 18 years of age. Vinfication is traditional, with 33% new oak on all but the Grand Crus, with extended lees used to contribute texture.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
