This lot contains two 37.5cl limited edition bottles of 2002 Château Guiraud from Sauternes featuring a label designed by Xu Beihong, one of the most popular Chinese painters of the 20th Century, who died in 1953.
Guiraud is an 83 hectare estate planted with 65% Sémillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is fermented then aged for 24 months in new and refill oak barriques.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
