This lot was donated by Dr Nicholas Morgan, trustee of the Maclean Foundation, to raise money for The Maclean Foundation.
This lot contains two bottles, 50cl and 20cl, of Port Ellen Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Islay. These two bottles of Port Ellen 41 Year Old were distilled on 17 May 1979. They were vatted from casks 3847 and 3906 and bottled at cask strength in 2020. The two bottles were gifted to Dr Nicholas Morgan, who was responsible for the launch of Diageo's series of Port Ellen bottlings on the occasion of his retirement in December 2020.
'I could never imagine drinking something as unique as this, so I'm delighted to see it being sold to support such a worthy cause'. Dr Nicholas Morgan.
'These two one of ones come as a pair. They are official distillery bottlings bottled from legendary Port Ellen malt but were never sold to the public.' Charlie Maclean
