This lot was donated by Georgie Crawford to raise money for The Maclean Foundation

Description

This lot contains two bottles, Lagavulin 1998 Cask 1715 Feis Ile 2011 51% ABV and Lagavulin 1998 1716 Feis Ile 2012 55.1% ABV.

'These two bottles have been donated by Georgie Crawford, former distillery manager at Lagavulin and the first bottling she was responsible for. Both casks were selected and bottled for the annual Feis Ile in 2011 and 2012, and were the last two single cask bottlings done by Lagavulin.'

'They are known as ‘sister casks’. They were filled on the same day with the same distillate, into similar refill butts, and lay together on site in Number 1 warehouse, and yet each of their characters is unique. “As with twins,” says Georgie, “they might on the surface seem alike, have similar traits and some commonality, but they have their own identities, personalities and unique idiosyncrasies”. Thank you so much Georgie.' Charlie Maclean
