A bottle of Black Tot Navy Rum. Bottled from the Last Consignment of stock of Royal Naval Rum, which had been hidden in storage since Black Tot Day in 1970 - the day that the 300-year-old tradition of serving a daily ration of rum to naval crew ended - Black Tot is a real piece of rum (and naval) history.
This bottle is presented in a wooden case with a copper measure and stopper, as well as a small book about the history of rum in the Royal Navy.
This bottle comes from the collection of Richard Crobar, owner of The Crobar in London’s Soho for 20 years until its closure during Covid. In storage since then, Richard has decided it's time to put the collection up for sale. He says: ‘If you end up owning one or more of them, I hope they give you as much pleasure as they have given me over the years.’
