A bottle of 1952 Graham's Single Harvest Tawny Port, matured for six decades, and bottled as a commemorative bottling for Berry Bros. & Rudd to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012. This is bottle number 0437.
'I absolutely love this style of port, a long aged colheita....when it's good and this one is very, very good. The fumes from a wine like this perfume an entire room....Walnuts, dried citrus peel, prunes, an edge of parmesan. With such a long time spent in cask (six in all, if I understood correctly), it is of course pale tawny with pale greenish rim and is rancio-issimo, but it is incredibly heady and rich without any sort of meagre skinniness.' Jancis Robinson MW, tasted 2012

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
