A bottle of 1991 Robert Weil Kiedricher Gräfenberg Trockenbeerenauslese Riesling from Germany's Rheingau region. Founded in 1875, Weingut Robert Weil is located in the heart of Kiedrich, and cultivates around 90 hectares of vineyards. Kiedrich Turmberg and Kiedrich Gräfenberg, the estate’s top vineyards, are considered among the finest in the region.
Trockenbeerenauslese is the highest in sugar content in the Prädikatswein category of the Austrian and German wine classifications, and is made from individually selected grapes affected by botrytis cinerea or 'noble rot'. This means that the grapes have been individually picked and are shrivelled, often to the point of appearing like a raisin, resulting in intensely sweet wine with a residual sugar level of at least 150-154 grams per litre.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
