Description

A 1978 Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Riserva Speciale Red Wine produced in the vineyards surrounding the town of Montepulciano in Tuscany. Made primarily from Sangiovese, known locally as Prugnolo gentile, blended with Canaiolo Nero small amounts of other local varieties including Mammolo. The wine is aged for 2 years, at least one of which must be in oak barrels, or three years if it is designated as a riserva.

Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano was granted its Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita status in 1980.
