A bottle of Graham's 1966 Vintage Port. This was selected and bottled for the UK market by by Grants Of St.James's Ltd.
There is no size or ABV stated on the label but this appears to be a 75cl bottle.
The late Michael Broadbent MW was a huge admirer of 1966, describing it as 'A marvellous vintage declared by 20 shippers...Firm yet flexible wines with perfect weight and balance. Sinewy and long-lasting. Most will almost certainly outlast the '63s, and will probably turn out greater in the end.' Tasted in 2001 he recalled 'dozens of admiring notes' for Graham's 1966 in particular, and suggested it would continue to drink well until 2030.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
