A bottle of Dönnhoff Riesling Spätlese Norheimer Dellchen Goldkapsel 2007
Grown on igneous rocky soils in vineyards planted at an angle of between 50 to 70% steepness on the banks of the River Nahe, situated between the villages of Norheim and Niederhausen. The hollows between the cliffs are known in the local dialect as 'Dellchen'.
Spätlese means 'late harvest' in German and is a term for a wine made from fully ripe grapes, picked around a week later than the regular harvest. The lightest of the late harvest wines, the sweetness level is around 120 to 220 grams per litre of residual sugar.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
