This lot contains two bottles of 2017 Emile Beyer Gewurztraminer, from the Grand Cru Pfersigberg vineyard in the Alsace region of France.
'Wonderfully aromatic overtones of rose hip tisane and spicy verbena hover on the nose among a more obvious ripe peach note. The palate takes this ripe peach and edges it with wonderfully stringent lemon zestiness. That spicy edge is intensified by a lovely phenolic undertow. This is a nuanced, layered and intriguing picture of an aromatic, off-dry wine with a seemingly endless finish. Lovely now but certain to evolve. Drink now through 2028. 94/100 'Anne Krebiehl MW

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
