Description

This lot contains six bottles of 2009 Nuits-St-Georges Les Brulées from Domaine Gille.

Nuits Saint Georges wine is produced in the communes of Nuits Saint Georges and Premeaux Prissey in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy. Red wines from Pinot Noir dominate production to around 97 per cent of the total, with the balance being white wines made from Chardonnay. The word 'Nuits' has nothing to do with the night, but comes from the Latin for walnuts, Nutium. In 2008 there were 306 hectares of vineyard in production for Nuits Saint Georges wine at Village and Premier Cru level.

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
