A magnum bottle of 1989 Clos Jebsal Pinot Gris Vendange Tardive from Domaine Zind Humbrecht in Alsace.
The steep 1.3 hectare Jebsal vineyard in the commune of Turckheim has a microclimate and rich marl-gypsum soils which provide ideal conditions for Botrytis cinerea (or 'noble rot') to form.
For many years the vineyard was in multiple ownership and largely abandoned until 1982 when Leonard Humbrecht managed to reunite all the small parcels and fully restore the 'lieu dit'.
