A 50cl bottle of 1996 Coteaux Du Layon Sélection de Grains Nobles from Château de la Genaiserie when the property was owned by famous Loire winemaker Yves Soulez.

Coteaux du Layon is an appellation for medium sweet wines made from exclusively from Chenin Blanc on the right bank of the river Layon, which is a tributary of the river Loire.

This bottle is from the collection of a Loire valley wine connoisseur who paid annual visits to Loire valley producers from the late 1980s onward, building up a fantastic inventory of bottles at all sweetness levels. These were stored in the UK in an underground WWII air raid shelter after collection straight from the producers.
