A bottle of Aigua de Llum 2018 Viognier from the rocky, north eastern Spanish region of Priorat, made by the Celler Vall Llach. The presentation box includes a small piece of llicorella slate, for which the region is well known.
'2018 Aigua de Llum is a ripe and generously oaked pure Viognier from 25-year-old vines that are currently being converted to organic farming. It fermented half in new 300-liter oak barrels and half in stainless steel and matured in new 500-liter French oak barrels for four months. It's still too much new oak for me, but the extra freshness of 2018 makes it feel better integrated. The wine is still quite powerful at 15% alcohol, so it's not a shy or austere white at all. 649 bottles were filled in May 2019. 91/100' Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
