Bottle Auction

A bottle of 1981 Chateau Carbonnieux from the Graves region of Bordeaux, a 90 hectare estate dating back to the twelfth century, which is equally well known for its red and white wines. The red plantings are 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, with the balance made up of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenère.

There is no size visible on the label.

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the label and top of capsule, which appears to be secure. The cork is slightly low in the neck by 2 to 3mm.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
