A bottle of Grosgrain Pét Nat 2021 from Kiona vineyard, Columbia valley, Washington. This is made with using Lemberger (or Blaufrankisch) fruit from a vineyard planted in 1976.
Pétillant naturel, or 'Pét Nat' is a method of sparkling wine production also referred to as the Méthode Ancestrale, where the wine is bottled before primary fermentation is completed, and without the addition of secondary yeasts or sugars. It is traditionally bottle unfiltered and cloudy, and often with a crown cap.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear. Please note this wine was not bottled with a capsule.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
