A bottle of 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Speciale from Domaine de la Charbonnière .
Domaine de la Charbonnière own 17.5 hectares of vineyards in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, with owner Michel Maret producing several different blends, all of which he bottles unfiltered.
'Revealing garrigue and roasted herb characteristics, the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale exhibits classic aromas of seaweed, kirsch liqueur, resin, and licorice. Dark ruby-colored, full-bodied, rich, and broad, with an impressive finish, this cuvee nearly defines the word 'Provencal.' Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 15. 91/100' Robert Parker, 2007

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
