Dom Perignon 1988 Moet & Chandon 75cl / 12.5%
A bottle of 1988 Dom Pérignon vintage Champagne produced in Möet & Chandon.
'Here the expressive and highly nuanced nose is fully mature with full-on aromas of brioche and powerful yeast scents that add plenty of breadth to the baked apple, pear, floral and soft spice nuances. The rich, full-bodied and equally powerful flavors possess a borderline creamy mouth feel despite the presence of a still very firm mousse, all wrapped in an utterly delicious, deep and palate coating finale. This is a lovely ’88 that has arrived at its apogee in perfect form and one that should continue to drink well for another decade and perhaps even longer. Drink now. 94/100' Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 2015
Please see images for fill level and label condition. The box is badly damaged, but is included with the lot.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
