A bottle of 1983 Dom Pérignon vintage Champagne bottled for Duty Free sale.
This is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, and was described by Champagne critic Richard Juhlin in 2002 as having 'more orchid, mushroom cream and diesel fumes than the '85, but fewer toasty notes...easy to drink and juicy, rather like chewing a sweet peach.'
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the foil.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
