Description

A bottle of Termanthia 2007 from the Numanthia winery from the Toro Denominación de Origen in Castile Y León, Northwest of Spain, made from Tinta de Toro grapes harvested from bush trained vines of 120 to 200 years of age.

'The 2007 Termanthia is, like the 2007 Numanthia, a bit more accessible than its 2006 counterpart. That is to say that it should begin to become civilized with a mere 6-8 years of cellaring and should offer a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2037. Bodegas Numanthia-Termes was sold by the Eguren family to Moet-Hennessey prior to the 2006 vintage. What this might ultimately mean for quality or style of the wine remains to be seen but there is no questioning the performance of the 2006 and 2007 vintages. 97+/100' Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 2010

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
