Only a precious 101 decanters could be extracted from this 42 Year Old Single Cask. A fourth fill Oloroso Sherry hogshead cask brought the liquid to maturity, with a considerable angel’s share lowering both the ABV and volume.
Bottled at cask strength (48.6%ABV) and natural colour, this is an expressive and unique whisky.
Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt has been family owned for over 150 years and has been producing whisky on site in excess of 220 years.
The 1970s was a turbulent but crucial part of Glenfarclas’ history, with labour unrest across the country making production difficult.
Regardless, two new stills were added by 1975, bringing the total number up to six. Production increased, but the traditional methods remained the same.
