Chateau Cheval Blanc 1989 Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classe 75cl / 13%
A bottle of 1989 Château Cheval Blanc Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé.
'A decadent, ravishing nose of blackberry, dark Valrona chocolate, mocha and brown sugar with brilliant delineation. The palate is full-bodied, very savoury with that Cabernet Franc in full flow. Fine, firm tannins, superb depth, a real mouthful of Cheval Blanc with a touch of plum and yes, "Bovril" on the aftertaste. Drinking superbly now, but it has a few more years ahead of it yet. Tasted February 2008. 96/100' Neal Martin, tasted 2008

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
