A bottle of 1995 Taittinger Comtes Brut Blanc De Blancs, made from 100% Chardonnay.
Taittinger was founded in 1734 by businessman Jacques Fourneaux, who worked closely with the Benedictine monks responsible for the development of grape growing and winemaking in the Champagne region. Based in Reims their flagship wine is the 100% Chardonnay Comtes de Champagne. In 2017, Taittinger planted its first vines in the English county of Kent, for a venture into English sparkling wine.
'Fantistically delicious and ultra-sophisticated. The balance has found its footing from the start. Floral, fruity, buttery, perfumed honey-soft, refreshing, stony, elegant, crisp, toffee-drenched, nutty. It doesn't matter which positive adjectives one uses. All you seek shall be yours!' 96/100 Richard Juhlin, April 2004
