Chardonnay - Pinot Noir

1979

Description

A bottle of 1979 Pol Roger Extra Dry, a blend of roughly 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay sourced from 20 Grand and Premier cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs.

The 1979 harvest was the product of an extremely cold winter, followed by spring frosts which gave the resulting wines a lean backbone of acidity following sunny summer growing conditions prior to harvest.

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the label.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
