A bottle of The Macallan 1940 Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky. This was bottled in 1981 for the Italian market and imported by Rinaldi. This bottle has a handwritten label.

This is bottle number 217.

Only five vintages were bottled in this series, which has become known as The Macallan Handwritten Label: 1938, 1940, 1950, 1957 and an extremely rare 1973.

Please note the low fill level and light haze to the liquid. The bottle shows signs of past leakage, but is not currently leaking. This is listed for historical interest only, and we recommend this lot for collection only; we cannot guarantee it will not leak further if shipped.
