Description

A pair of Royal Navy Rum flagons, still in their original wooden crate. We estimate these were bottled in the 1950s.

The top panel has the following markings:

R.A.S.C Sups (Royal Army Service Corps Supplies)

This Side Up

G.S.R.D. E/PKD 67

The back panel is marked PKD 12/55

The left and right panel are both marked: R.A.S.C Sups

The left panel is marked 8 (or possibly '3')115

The wax stamps that seal the flagons are embossed.

Sawdust has adhered to the seal of one of the flagons.

The stamp on the other flagon remains intact and reads: R.V...Deptford 11/55.

The original wooden crate was opened for inspection by Whisky.Auction.

This lot includes the two flagons, original wooden crate, sawdust, metal straps and nails are included with the two as part of the lot.

We recommend this lot for collection only due to the difficulties of shipping.

If the winning bidder chooses to have the lot shipped additional charges will be calculated post sale. We recommend the flagons be removed from the crate and shipped individually.
