A bottle of Sarget de Gruaud Larose 1999, the second wine of Chateau Gruaud Larose, from Saint Julien in Bordeaux.
'57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. Lots of classic claret aroma: baked earth, black cherry, menthol, forest floor. Still quite a lot of tannin on the palate, but it has a fine grained drinkability...' Jancis Robinson MW
