A bottle of 2005 Chateau Léoville Barton, a 'Second Growth' from Bordeaux's Saint-Julien appellation.
'The Château Léoville-Barton 2005 has a more multi-dimensional bouquet compared to the Langoa with blackberry, bilberry, a hint of ""Liquorice All Sorts"" and crème de cassis. The palate is medium-bodied with dense ripe tannins, a gentle but insistent grip and superb delineation on the finish that reins the power back in, ensuring that this Barton is linear, classic in style. There is great persistence here - a Saint Julien from the top drawer that will give as much pleasure to you as your kids (once they reach drinking age of course). Drink 2019-2050 95/100' Neal Martin, RobertParker.com, 2015

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
