A bottle of Massandra White Muscat from the Crimean Republic, a sweet wine produced using three different types of honey. This was bottled on 12 September 2013 after two years in wood, with a sugar content of 23%. The winery was built in the nineteenth century to fulfil the needs of the Tsar's court, and became renowned within Russia for its strong, fortified and sweet wines.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the lid, which is substantially dented. This contains sediment.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
