Description

A bottle of Dyer Meakin Breweries 5 Year Old XXX Rum, produced at Lucknow Distillery, India. We estimate this was bottled in the 1950s.

Dyer Meakin Breweries (known as Mohan Meakin since 1967) was established in the early 1800s by Edward Abraham Dyer and was India's first brewery. Today the company is best known as the producer of Old Monk rum.

The seller’s father started a music hall restaurant shortly before WWII. Every year he would keep some bottles from the stock and gradually built up a large collection of whisky, spirits and liqueurs.
