A bottle of Gilbeys of Ireland Redbreast 12 Year Old Irish whiskey. This was distilled by John Jameson & Son's Ireland. We estimate this was bottled in the 1950s to 1960s.
At the turn of the 20th century W & A Gilbey Ltd held more than 700,000 gallons of Jameson whiskey in bonded storage at their Harcourt Street warehouse. As importers of sherry they had easy access to casks and would supply these to Jameson to be filled with whiskey. This whiskey would later be sold by Gilbey's under either their Redbreast or Castle Grand JJ brand.
There is no size or ABV stated, but this appears to be approximately 7cl bottle.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels.
