A bottle of 2019 Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Gains bottled from Domaine Alain Chavy, and imported to the US market by Winebow Imports, New York.

Champs Gains Premier Cru translates as 'the fields reclaimed from the forest', and is situated at a high altitude of 340 and 360 meters, near the hamlet of Blagny on shallow, rocky soils rich in clay and limestone.

'The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru, matured in 25-30% new oak, has an impressive, well-defined mineral-driven bouquet that shows off the quality of this appellation. The palate is saline on the entry, fresh and vibrant and conveys plenty of energy. Maybe a little short compared to the Les Folatières, yet it is harmonious and appealing even at this early stage. 90-92 Points' Vinous Media
