A bottle of Beaune 1er Cru Vignes Franches 2001 rom Burgundy négociant Louis Latour. A Premier Cru site for which the historic owners did not have to pay tax on the land, hence the name 'Vignes Franches' ('free vines'), the vineyard is situated mid-slope on clay, pebbley soils allowing for easy drainage, with the resulting wine similar in style to wines from neighbouring Pommard.
