A bottle of 2008 Ermitage Le Pavillon from producer Michel Chapoutier, harvested entirely from 90 to 100 year old Syrah vines, and matured in 30% new oak.

'Very deep crimson. Very muscular and sinewy. Complete. Admirable, not hot, but dense. Lots of minerals on the finish. Amazingly chewy! Liquorice. Tar. Needs lots of time. 18+/20 points' Jancis Robinson MW, 2009
